This series explores themes of inherited culture and history, it is the manifestation of my struggles to understand my position within the Orange Order. It is a position that I do not feel I have chosen by myself, with the influential powers of family history and traditions that span generations, I have found myself in a position that has been made for me. The context of the photographs is juxtaposed with quotes from the text, which is given to every new member of the Orange Order. When these are placed together, the imagery takes on an uncomfortable, almost sinister tone. This in turn, emphasises my own feelings of uncertainty as a member of the Orange Order.

This series is part of a self published photobook which is available to buy, if you are interested in purchasing a signed copy contact me via the details below.
